Thailand launches
"Thailand Smile Plus" campaign

The Tourism Authority of Thailand is a
leading organizer of a special three-month promotional campaign
designed to boost international and domestic tourism.
Thai Hotels Association (THA) in
cooperation with wholesalers, shops, restaurants, transportation
operators, hospitals, golf courses and spas initiated the campaign,
attempting to stimulate both domestic and international travel
during the summer low-season and compensate for the loss of arrivals
and revenue caused by Iraq war and Sars crisis.
Valid from May 1 to July 31, 2003,
the campaign targeted at tourists from Japan, Korea, Malaysia,
Australia, New Zealand, Russia CIS and Baltic States, East Europe,
Scandinavia, UAE and Indonesia.
The campaign is being marketed by
TAT overseas offices. Under the campaign, "Buy One, Get One
Free" hotel packages in which customers can stay two nights for
the price of one or four nights for the price of two. Packages can
be bought directly through a special website, www.thailandsmilesplus.com.
Moreover, the customer who buys the Buy one, Get One Free packages
are offered the "Big Smiles Card", a 20-50% discount card
which is applicable in 14 restaurants, 10 golf courses, 3
transportation operators, 3 shops, 3 spas, and 3 hospitals. Note
that the discount offers cannot be used at a time with other
promotional offers.
