Thai Airways International
to place medical personnel in-flight to help screen
passengers
|
Date: 7 April 2003
Airlines around the globe are now
constantly adapting their passenger screening process following
their own countries guidelines and advice from World Health
Organization (WHO). Also, Thai Airways International (THAI)
announced it is to place medical personnel on board of certain
non-overnight flights in order to screen passengers and help to stop
the spread of the virus.
THAI stated that its Station
Mangers in the affected countries are to coordinate with local
authorities of public health or disease control to assist THAI staff
in screening passengers for symptoms related to SARS in order to
accurately determine whether that particular passenger will be
permitted to board THAI's aircraft.
THAI's Station Manager will also
coordinate with the government function concerning public health in
countries with the SARS outbreak to issue an announcement to
passengers planning flight departures from those countries to hold a
current health certificate indicating that they are healthy to
travel before flying THAI flights.
