Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) launched several year-end activities to enliven December, the end of year 2002 under the theme of "Wonderful December". This event provides a great opportunity to enjoy the happy atmosphere with the International Brand Grand Sale on Ratchadamri Road and in nearby department stores, shopping malls and retail outlets like Siam Discovery, Gaysorn Plaza and the Emporium between December 13-15, 2002, allowing this period the ideal time for Christmas and New Year Shopping.

The highlight of the festival is Bangkok Countdown which is annually organized at World Trade Center. There will be spectacular stage performances which are designed to celebrate New Year time, continuing from 17:00 hours on December 31, 2002 to 01:00 hours on January 1, 2003. On this occasion of happiness, many roads in the business centers and tourist areas will be lively decorated with illuminated lights and colorful ornaments, making Bangkok painted with joyfulness.
